This little light was for a 3D printing hackathon at UCB. It’s a light blue bean housed inside a triangle shaped casing (with some LED’s on a relay of course). The bean is wirelessly controlled using Octoblu (one of my favorite tools) to basically anything. The light on the bean indicated different states, like “it’s raining” or “there’s a test… Read more →
GestAuth
GestAuth is a totally last minute name given to an Intel RealSense Hackathon project. The premise is, the RealSense will identify gestures and the correct sequence of gestures will unlock a page. Video posting later. Read more →
Voronoi Living Panels and Controllers
These are responsive Voronoi diagram inspired panels. The white panels (which appear colored below) are backed with addressable LEDs. Mirrored acrylic propagates the colors, creating the illusion of mingling colors. Particle’s photon board enables wireless control for the panels, and control of the purple cube on the table. The table cube is a controller as well as a visualization. The… Read more →

Check out my National Geographic Your Shot page! Updated with submissions periodically. I highly recommend looking through the National Geographic photos though, all of them are beautiful. Read more →
Intel DevTech Demo: Fractured Future
I helped out one of my good friends, Moheeb Zara (the best hacker/maker I know) with some design work for his installation, Fractured Future. The piece comprised of some really lovely LED Infinity Pyramids and were networked with Intel Edisons and the whole thing was stuck together with Octoblu. Here are some pictures of the pyramids (designed by Connor… Read more →
Silver Sound Wave Bracelet
Inspired by the concept of a sound wave, and the beauty of poured silver, I designed a bracelet based on a waveform. First, I uploaded the file that I wanted to see the waveform of. Wavesurfer was a great tool for visualizing the sound. Then, I imported that file and vector traced it in Adobe Illustrator (and I made the thick… Read more →
Optically Clear Electrochromic Film Displays
I came up with an idea for an electrochromic film display (similar to LCD, but big enough to put on windows) and Moheeb Zara has been helping me out with building the device. Below is the latest update from the project (some little 0.8 inch squares) which is a prototype for a demo 5 x 5 (or larger) square with little… Read more →
Ferro Technologies Logo
This is my first time designing for a startup, but I really believe in their mission. This logo and business card was for Ferro Technologies, their website is at http://ferro.watch. Their product is a watch which can be used instead of credit cards with credit card readers. Inductive coils produce the electromagnetic signature, allowing the user to pay at any… Read more →
Fick’s Laws of Diffusion
I’ve realized that Fick’s Laws for diffusion are very important for a lot of different fields, but aren’t very easily searchable. Below is a short compilation of my *favorite* problems and their solutions. Just for fun! Steady State Diffusion through the Walls of a Cylindrical Pipe (From Jeff Hoyt’s MSE 103 Course at UC Berkeley) Consider hydrogen diffusing through an… Read more →
